Angela Peri, CSA, Casting Director, Owner/Founder of Boston Casting As a former actress and stand-up comedienne, Angela knows the challenges involved in finding just the right person – both for her clients and her actors. Angela founded Boston Casting in 1991, and since then she has worked on hundreds of local, regional and national projects, from major motion pictures, including THE FIGHTER, KNIGHT AND DAY, PINK PANTHER 2, THE GAME PLAN, PAUL BLART: MALL COP, THE PROPOSAL and EDGE OF DARKNESS, to television shows, commercials and corporate industrials. A member of the prestigious Casting Society of America (CSA), Angela is the recipient of the 2009 Imaginnaire Award and is one of the original board members of the MA Production Coalition. An active member of the community, Peri also lends her expertise to organizations and events related to autism and was the recipient of the 2008 Margaret Bowman award for outstanding parent in the autism community.
Lisa Lobel, Casting Director A former early childhood educator in Boston and an elementary school teacher in New York City, Lisa opted for a career change and began freelancing in film production as an on-set child wrangler for clients such as Fisher Price. In 1995 she joined Angela at Boston Casting, just in time to take on the challenge of “head wrangler” for the 7,350 extras in Celtic Pride. Hilary Missan- Casting Director With Boston Casting since 2007, Hilary specializes in casting feature films and television. Together with Angela Peri, CSA, Hilary has worked on such films as KNIGHT AND DAY starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, THE FIGHTER starring Mark Wahlberg, THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock, PINK PANTHER 2 with Steve Martin, and WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU with Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke. Her television credits include casting for the new LOUIS CK series on FX and the pilot WAR OF ’04 as well as commercials for VISA, American Express, and Liberty Mutual. Prior to joining Boston Casting, Hilary ran her own casting office in New York, specializing in theater casting. She began her career as the resident casting director for The Philadelphia Festival Theater for New Plays based at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she singlehandedly cast over 40 world premiere productions of new plays, by such well known playwrights as David Mamet, David Ives, Lee Blessing, Jules Feiffer. Hilary is a graduate of Oberlin College.
Julie Arvedon- Casting Director/Director of Marketing Julie has been involved in casting, marketing, public relations and video production in the Boston area for over 20 years. With Boston Casting since 2008, Julie specializes in voice over casting and casting for the industrial market. Clients include Subway, 99 Restaurants, MassMutual, Apple, New Balance, Saucony, Liberty Medical, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Amica, and Uno’s Chicago Grill. Julie also handles press and marketing for Boston Casting. Prior to joining Boston Casting, she was Communications Manager at North Shore Music Theatre and worked as a video producer for WHDH-TV, New England Financial and Liberty Mutual. She was also Vice President and Casting Director at Crewstar. A past president of the Boston Chapter of the International Television Association, Julie currently serves on the board of the MA Production Coalition and is a member of the Board of Visitors of SpeakEasy Stage Company and Boston Women Communicators. Julie is a graduate of Syracuse University.
Ashley Skomurski- Extras Casting Director Ashley Skomurski heads up the extras casting department at Boston Casting. Recent credits include KNIGHT AND DAY with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, FURRY VENGEANCE with Brendan Fraser, THE FIGHTER with Mark Wahlberg, the pilot BOSTON’S FINEST, THE KNOWING with Nicholas Cage, LIGHTKEEPERS with Richard Dreyfuss and LOCKED IN with Eliza Dushku. Ashley also serves Reality Show Casting Director. Recent credits include LOSING IT WITH JILLIAN MICHAELS for NBC, the GREAT AMERICAN ROADTRIP for NBC, BEAUTY AND THE GEEK, CHEF VS. CITY for the FoodNetwork, MASTERCHEF for FOX and OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS for ABC. Ashley also provides studio management and technical support for the Boston Casting studios and office. Prior to joining Boston Casting, Ashley was associate producer at Ferrini Productions, a company that specializes in Documentary films. She is a graduate of Endicott College.
