Angela Peri, CSA, Casting Director, Founder/Co-Owner of Boston Casting

Angela Peri, C.S.A., owner and founder of BOSTON CASTING, is a member of the Casting Society of America and an original member of the Massachusetts Production Coalition. Angela founded Boston Casting in 1991, and has cast thousands of national, regional and local productions from feature films to commercials and industrials.  Nominated for 3 Artios Awards for THE PROPOSAL, the Academy Award® nominated film THE FIGHTER and Seth MacFarlane’s TED, Angela has worked with many of the nation’s top directors. Angela’s recent credits include David O. Russell’s AMERICAN HUSTLE, THE FORGER, BASIC MATH, BUSINESS TRIP, THE EQUALIZER, THE JUDGE, R.I.P.D., HERE COMES THE BOOM, and LABOR DAY. Angela is the recipient of the 2009 Imaginnaire Award for her vast contributions to the New England production community, and is featured in the Bill Brett book Boston, Inspirational Women. As a retired actress and stand up comedienne, Angela continues to infuse her own brand of humor and experience into causes she is passionate about. Angela lends her expertise to organizations and events related to autism, and is the recipient of the 2013 President’s Award from The Federation of Children with Special Needs, and the 2008 Margaret Bowman award for outstanding parent in the autism community.

Lisa Lobel, Co-Owner/Casting Director

A former early childhood educator in Boston and an elementary school teacher in New York City, began freelancing in film production as an on-set child wrangler for clients such as Fisher Price and Hasbro. In 1995 she joined Angela at Boston Casting, just in time to take on the challenge of extras casting director for the 7,350 extras in CELTIC PRIDE.  Since then she has cast principals and extras for many films such as, THE MATCHMAKER, and MOONLIGHT MILE, as well as hundreds of local and national commercials.  Lisa currently focuses her efforts growing and managing Boston Casting’s 60,000 person online database and is a leader in innovative technologies for the casting industry.

Hilary Missan- Casting Director

With Boston Casting since 2007, Hilary specializes in casting feature films and television.  Together with Angela Peri, CSA, Hilary has worked on such films as KNIGHT AND DAY starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, THE FIGHTER starring Mark Wahlberg, THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock, PINK PANTHER 2 with Steve Martin, and WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU with Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke.  Her television credits include casting for the new LOUIS CK series on FX and the pilot WAR OF ’04 as well as commercials for VISA, American Express, and Liberty Mutual.  Prior to joining Boston Casting, Hilary ran her own casting office in New York, specializing in theater casting.  She began her career as the resident casting director for The Philadelphia Festival Theater for New Plays based at the University of Pennsylvania.  While there, she singlehandedly cast over 40 world premiere productions of new plays, by such well known playwrights as David Mamet, David Ives, Lee Blessing, Jules Feiffer. Hilary is a graduate of Oberlin College.

Aaron Kahl- Casting Director

With Boston Casting since 2008, Aaron has built a strong resume of feature film extras casting credits.  Recent projects include THE FIGHTER with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock, MALL COP with Kevin James, and EDGE OF DARKNESS with Mel Gibson.  Other film credits include SUNNYSIDE UP and MY BEST FRIEND’S GIRL.  Aaron specializes in real people casting and has been involved in casting numerous reality shows in the Boston area.  He has also cast dozens of commercials and industrials.  Prior to joining Boston Casting, Aaron was an Associate Producer with Interlock Media and worked on several television projects with Powderhouse Productions.  Aaron has an MFA from Boston University.

Ashley Skomurski- Casting Director

Ashley Skomurski focuses on feature film and television casting and heads up the extras casting department at Boston Casting.  Recent film credits include R.I.P.D.with Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, HERE COMES THE BOOM with Kevin James, TED with Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg, LABOR DAY with Kate Winslet and THE FIGHTER with Mark Wahlberg.  Her television credits include principal casting for TERMINALES and Season 1 of ABC’s BODY OF PROOF.   Ashley also serves Reality Show Casting Director.  Recent credits include LOSING IT WITH JILLIAN MICHAELS for NBC, the GREAT AMERICAN ROADTRIP for NBC, BEAUTY AND THE GEEK, CHEF VS. CITY for the FoodNetwork, MASTERCHEF for FOX and OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS for ABC.  Prior to joining Boston Casting, Ashley was associate producer at Ferrini Productions, a company that specializes in Documentary films.  She is a graduate of Endicott College.

Ann Baker- Casting Director

Working in film, television, and theatrical communities, Ann is a seasoned casting director with over 30 years of experience. From 1982 to 1990, she served as the New England casting liaison for ABC-NY, and was the casting director for the ABC-TV series “Spenser: For Hire,” the feature film Mr. North produced by John Huston, the Emmy Award winning PBS series “Concealed Enemies,” a CBS movie of the week First Affair, and The Gathering Part II for NBC. For 11 years she ran her own full-service organization, Ann Baker Casting Company. She is a recognized leader in the development of the industrial film market and has worked with producers from Digital, General Electric, Raytheon, and the AMA. Ann specializes in Presentation Coaching as well as beginner and advanced on camera commercial technique.

Jennifer Dwyer- Casting  Associate

Jennifer has been with Boston Casting since the Spring of 2011. She has assisted in casting numerous television commercials, industrials, voiceovers and web videos. Jennifer’s television credits include being a Casting Assistant on the ABC TV Pilot GILDED LILYS and TERMINALES. In addition to her role of casting associate, Jennifer is the office manager and internship coordinator for Boston Casting. Jennifer is a graduate of Suffolk University.
