Boston Casting is excited to reopen for in-studio casting sessions under Phase 2 of Governor Baker's Reopening Plan (classes will resume under Phase 3). Our office and studio are OPEN! Virtual casting is always an option.
The health and safety of our clients, actors and staff is our highest priority. Please take a moment to review our guidelines and procedures below and stay tuned for further updates as we continue to navigate these unchartered waters.
SAFETY AND SANITIZATION GUIDELINES:
Boston Casting follows all safety and sanitization guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as federal and industry standards. All clients, actors and employees should expect the following:
HYGIENE + DISINFECTION PROTOCOLS:
Hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol is available throughout the office, as well as access to hand-washing facilities with soap and running water. All clients, actors and staff are required to sanitize hands upon entering and leaving the studio. Cleaning and disinfection of the entire site, including heavy transit areas and high-touch areas are conducted daily and frequently throughout the day. A professional cleaning service cleans and sanitizes the office after each casting session.
UPON YOUR ARRIVAL:
When actors arrive for their audition, they must TEXT the office at (617) 286-6426 to let us know that they have arrived*. Please include your NAME, APPOINTMENT TIME and PROJECT in your text message. Please wait in your car (or outside) until we respond via text message to let you know that we're ready for you to come in. The casting assistant will meet you in the hallway and bring you into the studio. The hallway benches are not available at this time.
*Please note that this phone number is to be used for this specific purpose only. Please do not call or leave messages at this number, as they will not be received.
FACE MASKS REQUIRED:
Every client and actor is required to wear a face mask or covering in the common areas of the building, and any other time when they are unable to maintain a distance of 6' (unless they are unable to due to a medical condition or disability). Actors are allowed to remove their face covering when auditioning. We have disposable face masks available if needed, but you are encouraged to bring your own.
Our staff will also wear face masks and all mandated PPE. Clients will have the option of utilizing a personal protection shield (48" x 24" and 1/4 inch thick acrylic) if they wish.
We are implementing social distancing protocols throughout the office, asking that clients, actors and staff maintain a distance of at least 6' at all times.
HEALTH SURVEY & TEMPERATURE CHECKS:
When you receive your audition appointment via email, you will also receive a brief health survey that you are required to complete prior to confirming your audition. All actors who feel ill are asked to stay home and submit a self-tape. Casting reserves the right to monitor clients, actors and staff with screenings and temperature checks.
Auditions are by appointment only. Please arrive at your scheduled time (there is no need to arrive early). No walk-ins are allowed (even for social reasons). If you are unable to keep your appointment time, please call the office at 617-254-1001 to reschedule.
NO COMPANION POLICY:
Unless the actor is a minor, or there is a medical need, we will not permit anyone to join the actor in-studio for their audition. Companions may wait in the car or outside. Minors should be accompanied by only 1 adult.
FOR IN-STUDIO CLASSES:
About our COVID compliant studio:
*We are limiting space to 5 actors only to allow for 6+ feet of social distancing. Actors are required to wear masks except when performing (performing actors will be at least 8+ ft away from other actors). Our main office has been turned into a casting studio/classroom space, so we have plenty of space and a wall full of windows (which will be open at all times). When you arrive for class, please walk into the building and go straight to Suite 107 (there is no need to arrive early for class).
