Founder/Co-Owner/Casting Director
Angela Peri is an EMMY award-winning casting director, educator, and entrepreneur with more than 35 years in the film, television, commercial, and theater industries. As founder and co-owner of Boston Casting, she has cast more than 140 film and television projects, along with thousands of commercials, helping shape the New England casting landscape for decades.
Known for her no-nonsense approach, sharp eye for talent, and deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in the business, Angela has built a reputation for telling actors the truth, with heart, humor, and decades of real-world experience behind every word. Her work is rooted in both instinct and practicality: she knows what directors, producers, and agents need, and she has dedicated much of her career to helping actors understand how to meet the moment.
Her credits include The Oscar winning film CODA, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Boston Blue, 5 Star Weekend, Good Burger, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and James L Brook”s Ella McKay and the soon to be released Weekend Warriors and The Collaboration, among many others. Angela is a Emmy award winner for Widows Bay, a four time Artios winner, CODA, Sorry Baby, The Holdovers and Knives out. She was also nominated for two Semiramis Awards for Excellence in Casting worldwide for CODA And Sound of Metal.
In addition to her casting work, Angela is an Adjunct Professor at Emerson College, where she teaches The Business of Acting and has done workshops at Harvard University, The Boston Conservatory and Northeastern University to name a few.
Angela’s work extends beyond casting. She is deeply connected to her Italian-American heritage, has been a longtime advocate for individuals with autism and their families, and has strong ties to the city of Cambridge, where she has been recognized for her transformative contributions to the arts and local filmmaking. Her honesty, industry knowledge, and deep commitment to actors have made her one of New England’s most respected casting professionals.

Lisa Lobel, CSA, is an Emmy Award-winning casting director and co-owner of Boston Casting, Rhode Island Casting, and TriState Casting. A Boston native, she earned her BA from the University of Hartford and is a proud member of the Casting Society (CSA) and the International Casting Directors Network (ICDN).
In 2026, Lisa won her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for her work as the local casting director on the Apple TV series WIDOW’S BAY. She has received ten Artios Award nominations from the Casting Society, with three wins for SORRY, BABY, THE HOLDOVERS, and the Academy Award Best Picture winner CODA. She has also received two Semiramis Award nominations for Excellence in Casting, including one for SOUND OF METAL, which featured an almost entirely Deaf cast.
Lisa’s recent credits include WIDOW’S BAY for Apple TV, Netflix’s THE PERFECT COUPLE, A24’s THE DRAMA and TONY, and M. Night Shyamalan’s REMAIN.
Throughout her career, Lisa has built longstanding relationships with producers and directors who value her instincts, experience, creativity and collaborative approach. She has earned the trust of filmmakers who return to her project after project, creating lasting professional relationships that she considers one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
Beyond casting, Lisa enjoys speaking with students around the country about careers in acting and casting. In 2023, she was honored by her alma mater with the University of Hartford’s Arts and Sciences Alumni Award.

Brittany Shapiro

Brittany has been teaching acting to kids, teens, and young adults for more than 20 years in Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. With a professional background in casting, she specializes in audition technique and on-camera performance. Her students have booked roles on Disney Channel, Disney XD, Nickelodeon, NBC, ABC, and Discovery Channel, as well as national and regional commercials, print campaigns, and Broadway productions.
Before joining Boston Casting in 2012, Brittany worked in casting in Los Angeles on feature films and television, including Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm and the Disney XD pilot Shmagreggie Saves the World. Since joining Boston Casting, she has continued working professionally in casting and has run commercial casting sessions for clients including Titleist, BankNewport, Rhode Island Tourism, and Yale New Haven Hospital, in addition to film, television, and print projects.
Brittany currently serves as Director of the School of Screen Acting at Boston Casting. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Syracuse University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts and a Massachusetts Provisional Teaching License in Theater for grades K–12.

Associate Casting Director
Melissa is a seasoned casting professional working across film and television. Originally from Long Island, she moved to Massachusetts after earning her degree in Communications from Fitchburg State University.
She began her casting career in 2016 as an intern at Boston Casting, returning the following year as office manager and commercial casting assistant. Since then, she has contributed to a range of film and television projects, earning her C.S.A. Associate status.
Her credits include WIDOW’S BAY, TONY, THE DRAMA, THE HOLDOVERS, AMERICAN FICTION, and the Academy Award-winning CODA.

Mikayla Cramer
Associate Casting Director
Known for her quick wit, positive spirit, and ability to thrive under pressure, Mikayla approaches casting with both a creative eye and a strong focus on execution. She attended The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she studied Musical Theatre, before earning a degree in Acting from Penn State. Mikayla worked with the Cannes Film Festival in France then went onto join Boston Casting in 2018 where she now focuses mostly on commercial and advertising casting.
Her recent commercial work includes projects for NIKE, Bernie & Phyl’s, WONDER, Titleist, Wayfair, Bank of America, and more. She has also worked on many film and television projects including AT THE SEA, THE TENDER BAR, BOSTON STRANGLER, etc.Mikayla is passionate about finding the right talent, understanding the vision, and making the process feel seamless from start to finish. Her collaborative, upbeat approach and commitment to delivering results have led to longstanding relationships with producers, directors, agencies, and creative teams who continue to come back project after project.
She thrives on a quick turnaround and stays closely connected to what’s current and trending.
Beyond casting, Mikayla teaches acting and loves helping actors (both young and adult talent!) build confidence, sharpen their skills, and ultimately take it to the next level.
